Students who are residents of California pay $14,226 for tuition (2020-21) Students who reside outside of California pay $43,980 for tuition (2020-21). The school has 43,695 total students. UC Berkeley SAT score requirements
High UC Berkeley SAT score requirements. 1330 is the UCB SAT score. This is a sign that less than 25% students are accepted with a score of 1330 or lower.
1530 is the UCB SAT 75th Percentile Score. This means that 75% of students who were accepted scored below 1530. We could find a 1430 average SAT score at UCB (50th percentile).
Both sections can be aimed at independently. Math scores at the 25th and 75th percentiles are 680 and 790 respectively.
EBRW's 25th and 75th percentile scores are respectively 650 and 740. You will need to earn more Math points than EBRW in order to get the equivalent percentile.
You can score more in each section if you feel you are weak. Even if you score higher in one section than you need, it doesn't matter – you still have the composite score you need.

SAT Scoring Policy
UCB will consider your highest composite SAT score for SAT. You must send the highest SAT score from multiple attempts. Note that UCB does not do superscoring.
Candidate are given an advantage by the policy. The test can be taken multiple times, but you should only send the highest score.
UC Berkeley ACT Score Requirements
The UCB composite ACT 25th%ile score is 29. The 75th percentile scoring is 35. UCB does not have minimum score requirements. You will need to have a minimum score of 25th percentile or lower to be eligible for admission.
The average score for all four sections is called the ACT composite score. To obtain the desired composite score, you must score within the range of what you expect for each section.

Policy on Act Score:
UCB does not do superscoring of ACT scores. The College will take into account your "highest average score" when assessing you for the ACT. The University will take into account your "highest composite score" if you have taken the ACT exam multiple times.
Therefore, we suggest that you practice ACT often before you make a decision.
UC Berkeley GPA Requirements
UC Berkeley provides a method to calculate GPA. Find out how you can calculate your GPA. California residents and non-residents have different GPA requirements at UCB.
California students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Non-residential students must have a GPA of 3.4. This GPA requirement is met by students who have at least an "A" in their high school grades.
UC Berkeley Application Requirement
Application:
Unlike other colleges and universities, UCB does NOT accept the Common App/Coalition App. To apply to any course at UB you will need a UC Application account. Register here to open an account.
Application Fee: Fee Waiver or Application Fee
Application fees for the position require that you pay $70. You cannot cancel your application later and get the fee back. You can either pay by credit card or postal mail.
If paying the application fee is difficult, you can request a waiver of it. UCB will waive application fees up to four campuses. The $70 application fee will apply to all campuses.
Notice: This fee waiver applies only to permanent residents, citizens of the United States, and applicants who qualify for AB540 benefits. International students don't get a waiver of fees from the UCB.
Course requirements for A-G subjects
Completion of the A-G Subject Course Requirements is required. The A-G course prerequisite guide provides more detail.
Transcript:
Your high school transcript is a record about your academic achievements. After being admitted, you must submit your transcript. It is important that you do not send the transcript during your application.
Score:
UCB won't consider SAT/ACT scores in making admission decisions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, you may still send SAT results if required.
You may submit your score to be considered for California statewide admissions guarantees eligibility. They might use it to satisfy minimum eligibility.
Annual income:
If you are not dependent, you must provide proof of income. It is required for fee waiver applications, but it is optional.
Social Security number:
If you do not have one, you must submit it.
Citizenship Status:
You must enter the country you are a citizen of. If you aren't from the US, you must also provide the visa type as well as your immigration status.
California Statewide Student ID
California Statewide student ID is required for California residents. It is given to all K12 students in California. It's not a requirement.
Personal insight questions
8 questions will be asked of you during application. Your maximum word limit is 350 words. Your answer must be at least 350 words. You can answer the question however you like. UC suggests that you select the question that is most relevant to your personal experience.

Other Option: Transfer to UC Berkeley from another college later
Try applying to another college and then transferring to UC Berkeley. Here are the requirements to transfer. UC Berkeley is unusually high in its acceptance rate for transfer, compared to other elite colleges. How tall?
2020 transfer acceptance rates were 25.3%. This was higher than new student acceptance rates. UC Berkeley may have seen your application before. They might also reject it.
However, it is a plus that you can learn and grow at a college other than UC Berkeley. When you're ready for transfer, show your support and how you have grown.
Alternate Option B: Apply again after a gap year
After completing a gap-year, you can reapply. What is a gap? It is the time between high school graduation and applying to college. You will not be taking any courses in this year.
This is a riskier option as UCB could reject your application if they see you haven't done enough.
It may prove to be a good idea to take a gap-year. You can expand your perspective, make an impact, and learn new skills. It's a time to expand your perspective and learn new skills that will benefit you.
